Today,Journalist Medhat Ramadan will complete 4 years behind bars , in connection with case number 680 of 2020, Supreme State Security Prosecution. Medhat Ramadan was arrested from his home in Monufia Governorate on May 28, 2020. After a month of disappearance, he appeared on June 27, 2020, before the Supreme State Security Prosecution. During the interrogation session, he was accused of joining a terrorist group, spreading false information, and misusing social media, which led to his pretrial detention. Medhat Ramadan remains detained and awaits his release.
Medhat Ramadan is a non-unionized Egyptian journalist, born in Monufia Governorate. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Media from Al-Azhar University, graduating in the class of 2013-2014. He has worked for several news websites, most recently “Shababeek,” specializing in SEO and search engines. Ramadan writes in the fields of sports and education.
