Journalist Badr Mohamed Badr completed seven years
in pretrial detention last March, where he is under investigation in several cases.
Badr was arrested on March 30, 2017, within Case No. 316 of 2017, State Security. He has been charged with joining a group that was established contrary to the provisions of the law and the constitution,
With the aim of obstructing the work of state institutions and preventing
them from performing their duties.
He was released on November 24, 2019, but the release order was not executed. He was subjected to enforced disappearance from December 8, 2019, until he appeared before the State Security prosecution on February 24, 2020.
He was investigated in Case No. 1360 of 2019, State Security, on charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.
The case has been referred to trial and is still ongoing.
