Egyptian journalist Kareem Ibrahim completed 4 years behind bars in pretrial detention.
In April 2020, security forces arrested Kareem Ibrahim, a journalist for Al-Bawaba newspaper and a member of the Journalists Syndicate, following clashes between police and armed elements in the Amiriya area where he resides.
Ibrahim, who was detained without trial for a month, faced charges of joining a terrorist group, disseminating false news and data, misusing the social media platform “Facebook,” and promoting the purposes of a terrorist group while being aware of its activities.
