Law and Democracy Support Foundation announces its need to fill three (3) positions based in Egypt within its executive team, working remotely, according to the terms, requirements, and codes outlined below:
1. Researcher
Job Code: RES-2026
Job Duties:
- Leading monitoring, documentation, and analysis operations related to freedom of opinion and expression, as well as civil and political rights, including patterns of transnational repression and associated violations.
- Conducting research and studies, and analyzing issues and trends related to freedom of expression, the protection of human rights defenders, and human rights issues relevant to the Foundation’s priorities.
- Supervising field and desk documentation processes, data collection, and the transcription and accurate review of testimonies to feed into research outputs.
- Writing and drafting periodic reports, research papers, policy papers, and position papers.
- Contributing to the development of knowledge and research content supporting the Foundation’s various programs and projects.
- Coordinating with different teams within the Foundation to provide necessary research inputs for activities, programs, and projects.
- Participating in representing the Foundation in meetings and events related to its field of work when needed.
- Participating in regular planning and follow-up meetings, and contributing to the implementation of activities associated with the Foundation’s programs and projects.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Social Sciences, or any related field.
- Proven and documented previous experience in human rights research, documentation, or the preparation of studies and reports.
- Good knowledge of issues related to freedom of opinion and expression and human rights.
- Strong skills in research, analysis, and drafting statements and reports in Arabic.
- Ability to manage sensitive information and adhere to professional confidentiality standards.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in English and familiarity with international human rights mechanisms are an added advantage.
2. Lawyer
Job Code: LAW-2026
Job Duties:
- Providing legal analyses and insights regarding Egyptian legislation and cases pending before investigative authorities and courts.
- Monitoring, documenting, and analyzing legal violations and exceptional measures related to public freedoms and human rights.
- Analyzing charges and legal characterizations, and reviewing police reports and judicial documents to prepare objective legal readings of violations and legal infractions.
- Preparing and drafting briefs, defenses, and legal papers, as well as providing legal support and consultations to the Foundation’s research and advocacy programs.
- Communicating with victims and their families, providing appropriate legal support and consultations, and representing them before investigative authorities and courts when necessary.
- Contributing to the preparation of legal inputs for reports, research papers, and human rights materials issued by the Foundation.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and registration with the Egyptian Bar Association (at least before the Primary Courts).
- Proven practical experience in pleading before Egyptian courts and working on public freedoms and human rights cases.
- Good knowledge of relevant Egyptian legislation and criminal procedures.
- Good understanding of international human rights law, its mechanisms, and its consistency with national laws.
- Excellent skills in legal drafting and analysis in Arabic.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and adhere to professional confidentiality standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in English is an added advantage.
3. Multimedia Designer
Job Code: MMD-2026
Job Duties:
- Designing and producing visual content (Infographics, Motion Graphics) and video clips supporting human rights reports, research, and campaigns.
- Artistic and visual direction for reports, research papers, and knowledge materials issued by the Foundation in a professional manner that facilitates circulation and publishing.
- Planning and executing visual content for digital campaigns across various platforms to enhance reach and engagement with the target audience.
- Developing and managing the Foundation’s visual identity to serve the strategic goals of various projects and programs.
- Designing visual materials for social media, the website, and public events.
- Simplifying complex data and information and converting them into attractive, easy-to-understand visual products.
- Coordinating with research, advocacy, and media teams to produce visual content aligned with the Foundation’s objectives and messaging.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven practical experience in graphic design and multimedia production, preferably in the field of civil society, media, or research institutions.
- Proficiency in using the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Experience in infographic design and visual material production for digital campaigns.
- High ability to simplify data and human rights reports and convert them into attractive visual content.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and their specific design requirements.
- Ability to manage time, work on multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Submission of a recent portfolio reflecting creative and execution skills.
- Previous experience working with civil society organizations or human rights institutions is an added advantage.
